My HP OfficeJet 7740 started exhibiting printing issues, where there were lines across the page. I tried all of the troubleshooting steps, recommended in this Google Gemini Chat.

After the final step, of Soaking the print-head in hot, distilled water, I ran a series of six (6) "Clean Printhead" operations on the printer.

I am attaching them below. Please know that, before I soaked the printhead, the gap between the top and bottom of the A, B, & C, on the top, was *much* larger than the first cleaning/test here.

As you can see, cleaning operation 1 still left a lot of lines missing, but as the cleanings continued, that gap between the top and bottom started to shrink.

It felt like, the more I cleaned the printhead, the smaller that gap got. Like there was still ink clogging the lower half of the printhead. I thought maybe it would eventually clear out, if I kept cleaning. But I didn't want to waste $250 worth of ink, trying to clear out a $120 printhead.

Is this a problem with the printhead, or the printer?
