Hi @silv5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can feel how frustrating this must be, especially when you’re ready to print, and the magenta cartridge throws a “Supply System Problem” error. This usually points to an issue with the ink delivery system or the cartridge itself. Let’s walk through the steps to resolve it:

Step 1: Power Reset

  1. With the printer ON, disconnect the power cord.
  2. Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  3. Turn the printer back on.

Step 2: Reseat the Magenta Cartridge

  1. Open the ink access door.
  2. Remove the magenta cartridge and inspect:
    • No tape or protective film left on the contacts.
    • Contacts are clean and dry.
  3. Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks.

Step 3: Clean Electrical Contacts

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.
  • Let them dry for 5 minutes, then reinstall.

Step 4: Update Firmware

Step 5: Replace Cartridge (If Needed)

If the error persists after cleaning and firmware update, the magenta cartridge may be defective. Use a genuine HP cartridge for best results.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
