My brand new HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e was just updated with a new HP K ink cartridge; it will not print anything but blank pages Sometimes, it puts a little bit of ink where the top of the printed page will be. I ran all diagnostics, cleaned all that could be cleaned. the 3 color cartridges are empty but i don't need to print in color - only in Black and White. The diagostic program says it all good ?
Any suggestions?

Hi @Ruger2023,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e is only printing blank pages or not printing correctly after replacing the black ink cartridge and you're not interested in printing in color, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check the Ink Level: Even if you're primarily printing in black and white, some printers require all cartridges to have sufficient ink to function correctly. If the color cartridges are empty, it might affect the printing process. Ensure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed and has enough ink.
- Print a Test Page: Print a test page to verify that the printer itself is functioning correctly. You can usually do this from the printer's control panel or through the HP printer software on your computer. If the test page prints correctly, it suggests that the issue might be with the document or settings you are using.
- Check Print Settings: Make sure that your print settings are configured to print in black and white. Sometimes, if the printer settings are set to "color," it may try to use color ink even for black and white documents. Set the printer to "Black & White" or "Grayscale" mode in the print settings.
- Clean the Print Head: If the printer hasn't been used for a while or if there's an issue with ink flow, the print head nozzles may be clogged. Most HP printers have a built-in option to clean the print heads. Run the print head cleaning utility from your printer's control panel or the HP printer software on your computer.
- Align the Print Head: Sometimes, misaligned print heads can result in poor print quality. Use your printer's alignment feature to align the print heads. This can also be done through the printer's control panel or the software on your computer.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Check for Firmware Updates: HP occasionally releases firmware updates for their printers to address issues and improve performance. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model and apply them if necessary.
- Try a Different Document: If the problem persists, try printing a different document or file. Sometimes, the issue may be with the specific document you're trying to print.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
