Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

Purchased extra cartridges from Staples originally, went to swap it out now it says new cartridge is not supported?

So now I have to throw away a new cartridge? This doesn’t seem like a good way to sell a product , these are HP products that I paid full price for.

What exactly is the error message?  HP changed the design of the cartridges used in your printer and updated the firmware to reject the old generation cartridges.  See the document here for information.
