HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

My OfficeJet 8710 is locked up with an Incompatible Cartridge error: “This Printer is not designed to use continuous ink systems “

The cyan and yellow cartridges are flagged as faulty.  The magenta and black do not show the error flag.

It does not come online so I cannot print, scan or install updates.

I have the original HP 952 cartridges in the printer which worked fine last week.

Is there a way I can bypass this error?

I only need to scan and print documents in black.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Hi @DTT_111,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing cartridge issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-In-One Printer

Please follow the steps listed below to clean the cartridge contacts.

1. Open the door or lid to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.

2. Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message from the carriage.

3. Wipe the copper-colored contact on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth.

4. Reinstall the cartridge.

5. Repeat these steps for any other cartridges indicated in the error message.

6. Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area.
