Received a message to replace my deleted Black Ink cartridge on my OfficeJet9730e, otherwise it would not print. I replaced that with a new - genuine HP, Ink Cartridge. Later I got a message that my Cyan cartridge had been depleted (I had not printed anything). Printer wouldn't print (even in "black and white only" mode). I replaced the Cyan cartridge and the printer sat. This morning its telling me Magenta and Yellow need to be replaced. It won't print. I can count on 1 hand the number of color pages I printed. 98% of my printing is black and white. When I replaced the original black cartridge, the other colors were low, but not out and I haven't printed anything.
I had an HP8600 OfficeJet for 10 years (using it heavily) and I bought this new 9730e for the larger scan bed and its been nothing but a pain. The "FORCED" connection to HP to use full functionality I already paid for, is ridiculous. Now this. I will go buy a new print head for my 8600 and sell this. I will never buy HP anything as the company policies regarding forced connectivity really isn't for improved service, its for more control by HP.
