On the HP Officejet Pro 9730e Wide Format Wireless in regard to fax capabilities does it have a regular telephone cord connection? I fax a fair amount of time. My understanding on this model it faxes from the phone. I looked on the back and did not see the phone connector, unless at the top left there is a covered phone jack,

Thanks. I am looking for a wide carriage printer that is PSC, with telephone connection. Thanks

Bruce

To send fax you don't need a printer or fax machine, you can send faxes using the application HP Mobile Fax.

However, to receive faxes, you need a printer connected to a telephone line, and the 9730e doesn't support faxing.

I understand about receiving. But, on that particular model can it be hooked up to a regular telephone line? So you can send something by the automatic feeder and dial the number? If everything is done from the app, then it may not or be more difficult. If I have a bunch of papers to send, then I have to feed them through the machine and fax.

You can't dial a fax recipient number from the printer, but you can use the document feeder as a source for originals

Then you would have to scan the documents into the cell phone then fax them to the phone number rather than just dialing the number up and sending them. I guess I will have to decide if I want to go through the extra steps. I do keep two printers; the HP 8160 can do all that. Wanted a wide carriage one to do it all. Brother has one, Epsons are a little expensive.
