I just got a HP Officejet 5746 printer from Ebay. Condition was marked: Open Box But it came with blue shipping taping and had the original set-up ink cartridges in sealed package, so I assume it was "new" even though it's a 2016 printer. The Print Quality Diagnostic page has white streaks in the black box and when I print something, either the top or bottom of the lines are missing. I have new printer cartridges coming from HP -- will that solve the problem? Or is it a problem with the printer itself? Is it fixable? I did purchase Square Trade Warranty if I need to use that. Thank you for any help!!

@ja5050, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Going through your post I understand, the printer is experiencing print quality issues. This could be an issue with the printer ink system or the ink cartridges. I'd recommend you follow the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues to isolate and resolve the issue.
Also, you can try to replace the ink and see if that makes a difference. In case the issue still persists, you can use the square trade warranty to get a service or replacement.
I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
