My HP Officejet 6500A Plus suddenly won't print black and white either with a partially full cartridge or with a new full one. I tried with my MacBook Pro and with my iPad. Both were working fine until who knows what happened. I hardly ever print in color mode. However, my blue and red cartridges are low in ink but I just installed a new yellow one. My printer prints lightly in the color mode but not at all in the black and white mode.

@Otono12, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer Series and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
