I tried to print a document and I'm getting a printer ink rejected error saying it's not HP ink but I'm literally using the ink that came with the printer when I purchased it. I've done the hard restart when unplugging it but still getting the same error.

Hard to imagine spending more money on HP Ink knowing it's own system can't tell the difference and will block me from printing. What is going on with your printers these days? I replaced one with this new one and now this...

Hi @Oasis777,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer rejecting the ink cartridges, despite them being genuine HP products, can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridge numbers match the compatible cartridge numbers for your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer. Double-check this with the product manual or the printer’s specifications.

Inspect and Clean Cartridges:

  • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect the copper-colored electrical contacts. Ensure they are clean and free from any debris or ink residue.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the contacts.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Carefully reinsert the ink cartridges into their respective slots. Make sure they click into place securely.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for any firmware updates for your printer. Go to the Official HP® Support, enter your printer model, and look for firmware updates that might address the recognition issue.

Printer Reset:

  • Perform a hard reset by turning the printer off, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.

Check for Errors or Messages:

  • Look for any error messages or lights on the printer’s display panel and follow any provided instructions.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
