HP Officejet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Officejet Pro 6978 suddenly stopped printing color and only prints black and white.  Tried everthing including deleting and reloading device software, aligning, and cleaning printheads.  When it stopped it was using genuine HP cartridges.  I replaced the cartridges with new HP cartridges and still only prints black and white.  Printer is about four years old and doesn't get much use.  It is used in conjunction with an HP Laptop running windows 10 64 bit.

Hi,

I’m new here but think I might know why this is- it may be that the settings on your computer were changed rather than on the printer. I could be wrong but it’s worth trying; if you use word or docs, when you press save or print, there are ‘advanced settings’ or something where you can choose the page margins, double sided, or color (should be on bottom right drop down menu after going to the print pop up tab- press ctrl + p.  Hope this helps 🙂
