HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

I've found this issue online but all resolutions appear to be offline between HP support and the person posting. After replacing (and replacing again) the ink cartridges I am seeing the error message 'Indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly'. I have removed and cleaned the gold connection surfaces on both the cartridge itself as well as the tray. I've unplugged the printer for an extended period of time as well as shutdown down the printer using the power button but the message appears every time the printer restarts. Not only is this preventing me from being able to print but I am unable to use any of the other printer functions (e.g. scanner). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 If you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues then the printer needs to be checked.
