My officejet pro 8025 e stopped printing in color.  However, test print does have color ink levels shown in color.

Have tried all the online help recommendations and none have fixed problem.  Using Windows 10 with it for 3 years.

Hi @UnicornCowgirl ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the issue might be related to the settings or drivers on your computer.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Check Printer Settings: Make sure that the printer settings on your computer are configured to print in color. Sometimes, printers can default to grayscale or black-and-white printing settings. To do this, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, select Printing Preferences, and ensure the color option is selected.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP Officejet Pro 8025e model. Install them on your computer and see if that resolves the problem.
  • Restart Printer Spooler Service: Sometimes, restarting the printer spooler service can help resolve printing issues. Press Win + R, type "services.msc" and hit Enter. Locate the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart".
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the color ink cartridges are installed correctly and have sufficient ink levels. You mentioned that the test print has color, so this might not be the issue, but it's worth double-checking.
  • Run Printer Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in printer troubleshooter that can help diagnose and resolve common printing problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then select the Printer troubleshooter.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its factory default settings. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, third-party software or antivirus programs can interfere with printer functionality. Temporarily disable any such software and try printing again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
