Hello, our hp pagewide pro printer leaves 2 inches wide blank strip down center of page. Changed new hp972a black cartridge but issue didn't resolve. If I print just in color fonts, print result is fine, but for black printing, it shows up blank strip. Please help us resolving the issue. FYI.. I did clean printer head and aligned.

This is referred to as black ink fade (bif). This is the result of older formulations of ink having pigment that would settle out and sink to the bottom and clog the nozzles. If you have replaced the black cartridge with a recently purchased one, the hopefully you have the new ink formulation (expiry date must be on or after April 2022) You need to ensure that the firmware installed is at least 1743 or newer. Unfortunately my non-disclosure agreement prevents me from sharing further data. I am sending a note to the moderators to have someone from HP reach out to you.

Hello,
Hope you are well, for this issue, its recommended to run the cleaning stages from the printer menu, you can go to settings > clean print head level 1 and 2 , this will help to get the printhead cleaned and improve the print quality.
I noticed from the previous post the cartridge was replaced already.
After the cleaning, please connect the printer to network and get the IP address of the printer, ( you can get the IP by printing a configuration report or by touching the network icon on the printer screen.)
Once you get the IP address, on the computer, please type it into a web browser URL bar and hit enter, this will take you to the printer online web server, from here, go to the Tools option , then Firmware and click check now and install any available update.
After these steps , please test by printing a internal report and then from the computer, if the line still coming up, that could be a defective printbar, so machine may require to be serviced in one of the authorized service centers or if printer has warranty please reach out tech support
Regards,
