I bought ink for the HP printer 8600. I tried to install it but I did not realize that I had bought the wrong number for my printer. I immediately took it out because, of course, it wouldn't go in the slot. I finally got the correct number ink cartridge and installed it in the slot but now, the printer reported that the cartridge or the printer system had a problem. I went through the virtual assistant check list and none of the options corrected the problem. It will do everything but print. Now the report says that the new cartridge is damaged. I have purchased two more cartridges and the printer reports that each one is damaged. I'm not able to tell if it is the unit that holds the cartridges is damaged or it is damaging each cartridge. The Reset process hasn't changed anything. Taking the ink cartridges out and reinstalling them hasn't changed anything except dispensing a little ink out of them each time this is done. Trying to dust the little heads with a lint free cloth didn't do anything. Is my printer ruined from that one mistake? Can it be repaired? Anyone ever had this problem? Were you able to get the problem resolved? Any help is appreciated
