After trying 2 different New HP brand ink cartridges we have not been able to resolve the "Cartridge may be damaged or not compatible" error on my out of warranty printer. We have given up and just want to return the ink, but now it is stuck on the right side and it won't move to the left to remove the ink.
We have tried following numerous instructions to fix the issue but so far it won't move.
The ink is new so I just want to get it out to return it at this point. How can I remove the new ink cartridge?
Thank you!

Hi@AmandaBrod, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8626 All-in-One Printer displays a paper jam error when there is no paper jam found. Also, the print carriage is stuck towards the right side. Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
Was there really a paper jam in the past or any other hardware changes (ink cartridge replacement, etc.)?
While you respond to that. I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
NOTE: You may skip any steps that have been attempted before.
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected to the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
Keep me posted. Happy to help!

Hi! Thanks for reply. There was never a paper jam. It gave me an error that there is an issue with the cartridge. We tried replacing with 2 different sets of cartridges and the error still persists. Then it got worse with the cartridge now stuck to the right and I am not able to remove the cartridge.
We have spent A LOT of time following advice online so at this point we just want to get the cartridge out so I can return the new cartridge. I did follow your instructions below and nothing changed.
Now we have a message to "use the SETUP cartridge that came with you printer". We aren't able to do that since the cartridge is stuck.
