A "Cartridge Error" on an HP DeskJet 2130 usually indicates a problem with the ink cartridges or their installation. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Open the printer's access door to reveal the ink cartridges.
- Ensure the cartridges are properly seated in their slots. Press down gently on each cartridge to make sure they click into place.
Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:
- Turn on the printer and open the access door.
- Wait for the cartridge carriage to stop moving, then remove the cartridges.
- Check the cartridges and slots for any visible debris or damage.
- Reinsert the cartridges, making sure they are properly aligned and clicked into place.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cartridges and use a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with water to clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
- Allow everything to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.
Check for Ink Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges that are compatible with the DeskJet 2130.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
