This is the problem I'm having. I first I thought it was me. No. It's the HP toner 48a. This toner cost $66.00. It does not print a realm of paper which is 500 pages. At maximum it prints about 201 pages. So, I just purchased another toner. I put it in, checked the level, the level is LOW! Why??? HP this is not right. Why are you cheating consumers out of toner? At max, I am suppose to be able to print 1000 pages. I am printing less than a 1/4 of that! Why? I want my hard earned money back! I have been a loyal customer. All my products had been HP.
have tried purchasing this ink from different stores in different areas. The same problem. LOW TONER, where its darn empty!
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

@TAXCHAMP, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Printer Toner!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like you're frustrated with your HP toner not delivering the expected page yield. Here are a few things you can check and consider:
1. Check the Page Yield Estimate
- The HP 48A toner is rated for approximately 1,000 pages, but this estimate is based on 5% page coverage (which means only 5% of the page is covered in ink, like a short email).
- If you're printing documents with more text, images, or bold fonts, your actual page yield will be lower.
2. Check for Genuine HP Toner
- If you're buying from different stores and getting the same issue, double-check that your toner is genuine (not refilled or counterfeit).
- Look for the HP security label on the packaging.
3. Printer Settings & Firmware
- Go to your printer settings and check for any firmware updates.
- Make sure the EconoMode or Toner Save Mode is enabled if you want to extend the toner life.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
