I bought my M209 black and white laser printer with the 6 month free Smart Ink package. It worked magic until I have finished the toner which came with the printer.
The original toner from the box was very small, I finished that within a week.
Then nightmare continues as the new toners are never on-time. Canada Post registered in its system that an order label was initiated by HP, but the shipment toner has never been sent to CanadaPost's facilities. When I called HP Smart Ink, the rep said the shipments have been made and I should wait 2 more days for the shipments might be reasonably delayed. And that 2 days more wait went on and on, the longest is a month late in receiving a desperately needed toner. In between, I have wasted my time calling at least 10 times during that month to cry for help.
I tried to avoid the toner problem for this newly bought; I got myself a genuine HP toner which fits the model of my printer..... Oh mine, the printer has been locked up by HP Smart Ink. The rep with Smart Ink said unless I stop the subscription with HP Smart Ink, my printer will not be able to use other toner EVEN HP ORIGINAL TONERS.
Then, I was trapped. I couldn't use the toner I got from COSTCO, and I didn't receive any shipment from HP Smart Ink. Turned out I spent $160+ in total to print the document which I prepared to print with my new printer, not to mention I went back and forth to the print shop to make the prints.
I now have finished the 6 free month of subscription with HP Smart Ink, I have cancelled the subscription. YET... the printer still not recognize the ORIGINAL HP toner I have got from COSTCO.... I tried all the reset, rebot, help from HP Technical support... the printer still shows no toner... helpless.... please help ....
