Hi @Jim1500,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a print quality with your HP Smart Tank 515 printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Kindly perform the below steps:

Check for ink smears:

  • Use the HP Smart app on your Windows or Mac computer to clean smears.
  • Make sure your computer is connected to your printer with a USB cable or wireless network.
  • Open the HP Smart app, and then select your printer.
  • Click your printer, and then click Printer Home Page (EWS).
  • Click Print Quality Toolbox
  • Next to Clean Smear, click Clean.
  • A Rib Smear cleaning in progress message displays, and the printer slowly ejects a blank page.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent, and then click OK in the app.
  • Print another page. If the print quality is unacceptable, continue to the next step.
