Hi @AdrianS65,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 750 printer is not printing in color on your Mac running macOS Sonoma 14.5 (M1 chip), but it works fine from a Windows 10 machine, it could be a driver or settings issue on the Mac. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
1. Check Printer Settings on the Mac
- When you go to print a document, click on File > Print. In the print dialog, click on Show Details if necessary to expand the settings.Make sure the printer is set to print in color. Look for an option like Color Options or Quality & Media.Ensure that Color or Color Matching is selected instead of Black & White or Grayscale.
2. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.Select your HP Smart Tank 750 printer and click the Remove (-) button.
- Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.Enter your printer model and download the latest driver for macOS Sonoma 14.5.Install the downloaded driver.
- Go back to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.Click the Add (+) button to re-add your printer.
3. Reset the Printing System:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.Right-click (or Control-click) in the Printers list and select Reset printing system.
- Confirm the reset and then re-add your printer as described above.
4. Check for macOS Update:
- Go to System Settings > Software Update.Ensure that macOS is updated to the latest version available.
5. Test Printing from Different Applications:
- Sometimes, the issue might be specific to certain applications. Try printing from different apps like Preview, Safari, or Word to see if the issue persists.
6. Use AirPrint:
- If your printer supports AirPrint, try using it instead of the HP driver. When adding the printer in Printers & Scanners, select AirPrint instead of the HP driver.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
