Hello - I'm hoping you can help me. I have an HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One that has worked great until recently. The magenta ink tank is full but stopped coming out when printing. I've run diagnostics, cleaned the printheads, and tried all troubleshooting options on HP's website. Nothing is working and magenta still won't come out. How do I clear a clog in the line or clean any debris manually?
I see troubleshooting saying to remove the printheads but I don't see how to do that with the All-in-One option.
Can someone please help?
Thank you!

Hi @KG2022,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps provided by HP and magenta ink is still not coming out when printing, you may need to perform more advanced cleaning procedures to clear a potential clog or debris in the ink line or printhead. Here are some steps to try.
Manual Printhead Cleaning:
- a. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
- b. Remove the magenta ink tank.
- c. Carefully lift the printhead latch and remove the printhead.
- d. Use a lint-free cloth or paper towel dampened with distilled water to gently clean the bottom of the printhead. Be very gentle and avoid touching the nozzles.
- e. Allow the printhead to air-dry completely.
- f. Reinstall the printhead and the magenta ink tank.
- g. Turn on the printer and try printing a test page.
Flush the Ink Line:
- a. Remove the magenta ink tank.
- b. Using a syringe or a similar tool, draw a small amount of distilled water (about 5-10 ml) into the syringe.
- c. Carefully insert the syringe into the magenta ink tank port (where the ink tank normally goes).
- d. Gently push the water into the ink line to flush out any potential clogs.
- e. Reinstall the magenta ink tank and run a printhead cleaning cycle.
- f. Print a test page to check if magenta ink is now flowing.
Printhead Soaking:
- a. Remove the printhead as described in step 1.
- b. Fill a shallow container with enough distilled water to submerge the bottom of the printhead.
- c. Place the printhead in the container, ensuring the nozzles are submerged.
- d. Let the printhead soak for several hours or overnight to dissolve any dried ink or clogs.
- e. Remove the printhead from the water and allow it to air-dry completely.
- f. Reinstall the printhead and the magenta ink tank.
- g. Run a printhead cleaning cycle and print a test page.
Check for Debris: Inspect the printhead area and ink line for any visible debris or foreign objects that might be causing the blockage. If you find any, carefully remove them with tweezers or a soft brush.
Replace Printhead: If none of the above steps work, you may need to consider replacing the printhead, as it could be damaged or irreparably clogged.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
