@Wendy787, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Color Printing Issues with HP Smart Tank 7600!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Smart Tank 7600 series printer is not printing in color, here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

1. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure the color ink tanks are not low or empty. Refill any tanks that are low on ink using genuine HP ink to guarantee quality and reliability.
  • To check ink levels, touch the Menu icon on the printer display, scroll down, and select Ink Levels.

2. Check Print Settings

  • Make sure the print job is set to print in color. From your printing application, click on File > Print, and then check the Printer Properties or Preferences to ensure the color option is selected.

3. Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  • Clean the printheads to address clogs that may prevent color printing. Go to the printer control panel, touch Menu, scroll to Tools, and select Clean Printhead.

4. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • This helps to identify print quality issues and any missing colors. On the printer control panel, go to Menu, then Tools, and select Troubleshooting > Print Quality. A diagnostic page will print.
    • Review the test patterns and note any missing colors or defects.

5. Align and Replace Printheads

  • If cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, try aligning the printheads via the Tools menu.
  • If problems persist, you might need to replace the print cartridges following the instructions in the user manual or support website.
