Hi,

Having problems with printing but tried to use the HP App. When I select Settings, the page is blank, so I decided to un-install the App and go to the HP Website to re-install it. Unfortunately the link from there takes you back to the Microsoft App store.

Have un/re-installed several times now..I accept the terms then the page is blank and stays blank.

So is there another way to download HP Smart?

Cheers

Hi @GMac66

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are facing issues with the HP APP and you as you tried to uninstall and reinstall and still the page is blank. I would request you to please follow the steps:

USB connection: Ensure the cable is firmly plugged into both the printer and computer.

Wireless connection:

  • Verify the printer is connected to the correct Wi‑Fi network.
  • Restart your router to refresh the connection.
  • Check that your computer is on the same network.
  • Make sure you connect with 2.4GHz network.

Restart the Printer

  • Power off the printer.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Turn it back on and check if the status changes from Idle to Ready.

Set as Default Printer

  • Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
  • Locate your HP printer.
  • Right‑click → Set as Default Printer.
  • A green checkmark should appear on the printer icon.

Clear the Print Queue

  • In Devices and Printers, right‑click your printer → See what’s printing.
  • Cancel all pending print jobs.
  • Try printing a test page.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

  • Go to the HP Support website. https://support.hp.com/au-en/products
  • Enter your printer model and download the latest full feature driver.
  • On your computer:
  • Open Device Manager → Printers.
  • Right‑click your printer → Uninstall device.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Install the freshly downloaded driver package.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi and thanks for the detailed reply.

I had messaged HP directly after exhausting all in order to fix the above. The agent gave me a link to download the new App as opposed to Smart.

After downloading the App, I chose my printer and all is working again.

So the Smart App should be removed from Microsoft Store and replaced with the App. Maybe that is on-going with HP..But all sorted now.

Cheers.
