A new ink cartridge was installed and the print button was cleaned via the app. The printer only prints in black & white. The full ink cartridge level is displayed

@WolfHD, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where your HP DeskJet 3750 is printing only in black and white, even though a new color ink cartridge has been installed and shows as full. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this:

Check Print Settings

Sometimes, the print settings may be set to "Black & White" or "Grayscale" by default.

On Windows:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Click File > Print > Printer Properties.
  • Look for a Color or Advanced tab.
  • Ensure Color is selected instead of Black & White or Grayscale.
  • Click OK and try printing again.

On macOS:

  • Open the document and click File > Print.
  • Click Show Details (if available).
  • Look for a Color Options or Media & Quality section.
  • Make sure Print in Color is selected.

Run Printhead Cleaning

Even though the cartridge is new, the printhead might be clogged.

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Select your printer > Printer Settings > Tools > Clean Printheads.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and print a test page.

If the issue persists, try a second-level cleaning from the same menu.

Check Cartridge Installation

Make sure the color cartridge is properly seated:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reinsert the color cartridge.
  • Ensure it clicks into place securely.

Print a Diagnostic Page

This helps verify if the printer is detecting and using the color cartridge.

  • Press and hold the Start Copy Color and Cancel buttons together for 3 seconds.
  • A Printer Status Report should print.
  • Check if any color appears on the page.

If the diagnostic page prints in color, the issue is likely with the software settings.
