New cartridges in March 2020. Printed out c60 copies. Not used during lockdown until September, Ink now apparently dried up. Printer always switched off as advised. Can't afford to keep replacing cartridges that last such a short time.

@clarem1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The printer was not used for more than 5 months. Hence the ink has dried up. This is not surprising. Even if you had stored the ink cartridges in an air-tight container, I doubt it would work after 5-6 months.

It is recommended to use the printer at least twice a week to keep the nozzles from blocking.

Let us clean the ink cartridges that may resolve this issue:

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools, then touch Clean Cartridges.

  3. If the print quality is unacceptable, click Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.

  4. NOTE: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
