Hi @court1604,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Envy 6020 printer isn't printing straight, and you've already tried basic troubleshooting like unplugging the printer, there are a few more steps you can take to address the issue. Misalignment or angled prints often stem from problems with the printer's alignment, paper feed, or rollers. Here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:

Check Paper Tray and Guides: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and that the paper guides are snug but not too tight against the paper. Misaligned paper can cause skewed printing.

Print an Alignment Page: Most HP printers have a feature to print an alignment page, which you can then scan to realign the print cartridges. This process ensures that the printing mechanism is correctly aligned. Look for this option in your printer's settings or maintenance menu.

Clean the Rollers: Dirty or worn-out rollers can lead to paper feed issues, causing the paper to skew as it's being printed on. Turn off your printer and unplug it, then open the access panel to the rollers. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Allow them to dry completely before closing the printer and turning it back on.

Inspect for Obstructions: Check the paper path for any obstructions or debris that might cause the paper to feed at an angle. Small bits of paper, dust, or other debris can affect the paper feed.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. HP often releases updates to improve the performance of their printers or fix known issues. You can find firmware updates on HP's official website by searching for your printer model.

Use the Correct Paper Type: Ensure you're using the right type of paper for your printer. Some printers have trouble handling glossy photo paper or thicker card stock, which can lead to skewing.

Printer Calibration: Some printers offer a calibration option that can correct issues with print quality, including misalignment. Check your printer's manual or settings to see if this is an option.

Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you can try a factory reset of the printer. This will return it to its original settings, which might resolve the issue. Be aware that this will erase any custom settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
