I have had issues with HP ink cartridges from the day I bought this all-in-one solution years ago. I have had issues with HP authentic cartridges as well as re-brand version. The HP brand protection setting is infuriating! The owner should have total control over the ability to override the errors. I have authentic cartridges that I JUST bought and the stupid printer says they are defective. I have reset and cleaned all connectors and reseated all cartridges MANY times... with sporadic errors saying non-HP cartridges or defective, etc. Give us firmware that will read the cartridge ink levels and just PRINT!!!! I cant even do scanning to email because the system is so wrapped around the ink errors it wont let me to ANYTHING. TERRIBLE design. Not the only printer with these complaints from customers on these design issues. If I have to replace this printer it will NOT be an HP printer.

Seems to be happening to all the 8620's as of late. I replaced the yellow cartridge first with Genuine HP Ink, then it said the Magenta was damaged. Bought, replaced that one next. Then it said the Cyan was bad. Bought another Genuine HP Ink and replaced it. Now the LCD states all (4) appear to be damaged. Impossible. I tried the HP print latest firmware update on my printer LCD , tells me it has the latest already. Maybe HP can supply me with a special firmware to reset this nightmare.
Just spent $160 on new HP Ink that won't work.
