Hello, I'm hoping that the community's collective wisdom will come to my rescue.
I'm using a Laser Jet Pro MFP M281 fdw which is on a ethernet network with 2 iMacs and which has worked pretty well for the last 2 years. However, it has recently begun to print colour pages with lines/streaks through the colours. The cartridges have plenty of pages left in them according to the supplies status report (Black 100%, Cyan 40%, Magenta 30%, Yellow 20%). I've looked at the solutions for similar problems in this community and I've installed the latest software, recalibrated the printer, run a cleaning page, peered into the inside of the printer to check there aren't any jams, so now I'm at a loss. I've scanned a recent attempt at printing a typical file that my OH produced and it's attached. Could the problem be connected to the fact that, for the first time, I've been using (voice drops to a shamefaced whisper) compatible cartridges instead of HP ones?
All advice will be greatly appreciated.

That looks like a bad yellow toner to me.
Is it origianl HP or non-genuine toner ? Can you print 4 horizontal thick lines in all 4 colours, and the one with the stripes needs to be replaced for better total quality of print.

Hello, thank you for answering my query.
Attached is a scan of the print out as you suggested. It's probably hard to make out on the yellow, but the lines appear in all the colours except the black and there may be lines there as well, but they are difficult to see. The black cartridge is still showing at 100% whereas the others are Cyan 40%, Magenta 30% and Yellow 20%. They are all non-HP cartridges. It's the first time I've used non-HP toner because of the cost, but surely even compatible cartridges should still print properly even as low as 20%?
