@Burt4754, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP OfficeJet 8015e Printer Not Printing in Black!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer is not printing in black despite cleaning the printhead and installing a new cartridge, here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:

Check Ink Levels:

  • Verify that the new black cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink. You can check the estimated ink levels from the printer control panel or printer software.

Verify Cartridge and Printer Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the cartridge is compatible with the OfficeJet 8015e model. Use only genuine HP cartridges for optimal performance.

Examine Cartridge Vents:

  • The vent on the cartridge may be blocked. Remove the black ink cartridge and inspect the vent area. If necessary, use a pin to gently clear any obstruction from the vent.

Run Extended Printhead Cleaning:

  • If the initial cleanings did not resolve the issue, check if your model has an option for an extended or second-level printhead cleaning. This can sometimes clear more stubborn clogs.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download and install any available updates.

Perform a Reset:

  • Resetting the printer can sometimes resolve issues. Turn the printer off and unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in and restarting.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
