Hello Team
I have an HP photosmart 6510 printer. it recently started rejecting new compatible ink cartridges. I have followed procedures offered by HP virtual assistant to clear the memory but without any success. Would appreciate any help. It always gives the same error messages that the red and blue cartridges are missing or damaged, even after replacing the same.

Hi @MAZ2626,
MAZ2626Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing an issue with incompatible print cartridges with your HP Photosmart 6510 printer Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Hello and many thanks for the reply.
I have followed your instructions carefully but could not resolve the problem. The HP customer support process indicated that there is no FIRMWARE update available for this printer. Also the printer display panel is locked on the same cartridge error problem and it does not allow access to the internet. I was directed to HP community for assistance.
I feel that I am going in circles.
I would appreciate any assistance related to current printer fault status.
Cheers
