HP printer 8028e

I bought a printer 8028e series from hsn , it did come I think so I tried using what I had on hand from my other printer same model. It gives message I need starter ink. I contacted hsn they told me to contact hp which I did andtey haven’t sent me any ink. So I guess I have a very expensive Paper weight,

It is looking for the setup cartridges.  Did HSN provide the setup cartridges?  If  not, it is possible to bypass the setup cartridge requirement

So on the printer screen you see * and # to bypass it

I tap * # * *

I open the printer access door and close it again. This method helped me bypass the setup cartridges and now the printer is fully functioning.

SORRY: ABOVE FOR PRINTERS WITH NO CONTROL PANEL.

I found the above info somewhere on the web long ago.  If it works let me know!!!

In addition, you will need genuine HP ink cartridges if you do not have the original setup cartridges.

Non HP ink can be used on this list of HP printers.

I purchased my HP 8028e from HSN and it was missing the startup ink cartridges. In the past I reached out to HSN they told me to contact HP which I did, but as of yet I still haven’t had any luck getting it setup because HP didn’t send me a complete setup, I tried using some I had on hand from another printer I have same printer, is there anything I can do to bypass using the starter in cartridges? Otherwise I have an expensive paper weight
