@Larsonkid1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Print Settings on Your Computer

Sometimes, print scaling settings can affect how the document is printed. Follow these steps based on your operating system:

For Windows:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Press Ctrl + P or select File > Print to open the print dialog box.
  3. In the Print dialog, select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer.
  4. Click on Printer Properties or Preferences (depending on your application).
  5. Look for a setting labeled Scaling, Page Sizing, or Fit to Page. Ensure it’s set to 100% or Actual Size (not "Fit" or "Enlarge").
  6. In some programs (like Microsoft Word), make sure the Scale option is set to 100%.
  7. Click OK to apply the settings and then print.

Check Printer Preferences via HP Smart App (Windows or Mac)

If you are using the HP Smart App, ensure the settings there are correct:

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  2. Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer from the home screen.
  3. Click on Printer Settings.
  4. Navigate to Printing Preferences and ensure that the Paper Size and Scaling options are set correctly (to Actual Size or 100%).
  5. Save any changes and attempt printing again.

Check Printer Settings on the Printer’s Control Panel

If there is any chance that the settings are misconfigured directly on the printer, follow these steps:

  1. On the printer’s touchscreen, tap Setup or Settings.
  2. Go to Printer Maintenance or Printer Settings.
  3. Look for Page Layout or Scaling options and ensure that they are set to 100% or Actual Size.
  4. Confirm and save the settings.

Check the Document’s Original Size

Ensure that the document you're printing has the correct paper size and is not set to a different format (e.g., A4 instead of Letter). If you’re printing a PDF or image, double-check that the original document size matches the paper you intend to use.

  • For example, printing a letter-size document on A4 paper might cause scaling issues. Check the paper size in both your document and your printer’s settings.

Update Printer Drivers

Outdated drivers can sometimes cause unexpected print behavior. To make sure the drivers are up-to-date:

  1. Go to HP's official support website: HP Support.
  2. Search for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e printer.
  3. Download and install the latest printer driver for your operating system.

Reset the Printer Settings (if necessary)

If the issue persists despite the above troubleshooting, try resetting the printer settings:

  1. On the printer's Control Panel, tap Setup.
  2. Go to Printer Maintenance.
  3. Select Restore Defaults or Reset Printer Settings.
  4. Confirm the reset and check if the issue is resolved after restarting the printer.

Try a Different Print Application

If you are using a specific program to print (like a web browser or photo viewer), try printing the same document from a different application (e.g., Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat Reader) to see if the problem is software specific.

Test Print Functionality

Finally, after adjusting all settings, perform a test print:

  1. Print a test page from the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
  2. Verify if the page is printed correctly without enlargement.
