I bought an HPOffijet Pro 8740 I paid almost $800 for it. I bought spare ink cartridges so I would have them on hand when I needed them. my ink cartridges needed replacing I put in new ink cartridges from my stock. I got an error saying the warranty was expired on the ink cardtridges? I called into HP support which shockingly HP hides that number pretty well these days and reported the problem. The agents kept trying to tell me my ink cartridges were no good but being in IT myself I told them they were fine the ink in them is powder and age is not a factor. I told them it was not HP's role to tell me when my new cartridges were expired. I made many calls before HP finally relented and sent me new ink cartridges. Well the ink cartridges need replacing again rendering my printer unusable even though my ink cartridges are full and should print fine. It's the date they put on the ink cartrdges that is preventung the printer from working. This is ridiculous and HP has become so greedy they are making their printers worthless unless you pay their ink ransom? I would like too hear from anyione else who has gone through this and what you did to resolve the issue. I will never buy another HP product ever if HP does ntot make this right.

Hi Alden4
I went through the process and did not get a link to dispute the warranty? I bought this printer new on Amazon and according to hp if the warranty dispute option does not come up its a commercial product? I'm not sure what that has to do with the warranty? I also bought the HP ink cartridges from HP at Costco brand new a retail store and never noticed they had a warranty date on them but when 8 opened them i found some of them have dates of 2011 and 2012 which is years before I bought them in 2018? There was no disclosure by HP anywhere advising me the consumer that the ink cartridges for this printer were date driven and only good if not expired and the printer would stop printing based on the date on the ink cartridges not whether the ink cartridges were empty. If I had this disclosure as is required by consumer law I would never have purchased this printer. No where was I informed if the date of expiration happened but cartridge was full it would not work on the cartridge packaging and the cartridge if expured would render the printer unusable. This is consumer fraud that HP is perperating on its customers. This is the issue I am raising to HP.
