Tonight I tried to installed 2 new, factory-fresh HP CF 500X black toner, straight from the HP boxes purchased from Office Depot HP product tracking 2a11h4ab, 20220111 and 2f09h3ab, 20220609. I get a non-HP chip error and the printer will not allow me to print.
1) I reset the printer by disconnecting the power while it was running, waiting 60 seconds, and restarting.
2) I checked my firmware, as it is up to date Firmware code 20221010
I re-installed the old black cartridge and that one still works, but is out of ink..
Want replacement toners that work or a fix for the clearly faulty software update from HP. Plan to file a complaint with State Attorney Generals Office in regards to product fraud, as well as BBB, and any other agency I can find that will cost HP time and money to legally respond.

Drop box Expires: 12/16/2022 4:31:19 AM (30 days) - Load the correct .rfu file in a USB thumb drive formatted to FAT32 file system.
- Connect the USB thumb drive with the .rfu firmware file to the front USB port
- Turn the printer on
- The firmware upgrade/downgrade will start and once the firmware file is flashed to the printer will boot to ready.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Andr-1611, the .rfu file from formatted thumb drive did not work. However, I was able to run the M280_Series_FW_Update-20220414.nativeofficefonts.exe from a connected PC to successfully downgrade the driver. Everything is working now.
Thank you for your help!
