Hi @nguyenhungthe

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the issue. Since your HP DeskJet 2610 was previously printing PDF files correctly through the HP App and is now printing multiple pages of unreadable characters or "garbage" output, let's focus on the most common troubleshooting steps that can help restore normal printing.

Restart the printing path completely

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Restart the computer or mobile device used for printing.
  • Power the printer back on after about 60 seconds.
  • Try printing the same PDF again.

Save the PDF locally before printing

  • Download the PDF to the device instead of printing directly from email, cloud storage, or a browser.
  • Open the saved PDF and print it again.
  • This helps eliminate temporary file conversion issues.

Print a different file type

  • Print a simple photo or text document.
  • If these print normally while PDFs print garbage characters, the issue is likely related to PDF processing rather than the printer hardware.

Remove and re-add the printer in the HP App

  • Open the HP App.
  • Remove the DeskJet 2610 from the application.
  • Add the printer again.
  • Allow the HP App to complete printer discovery and setup.
  • Test printing afterward.

Update the printer software

  • Ensure the HP App is fully updated.
  • If using Windows or Mac, install the latest full-feature printer software available for the HP DeskJet 2600 series from HP and test printing again.

Use "Print as Image" for PDF files

  • Open the PDF.
  • Select Print.
  • Open Advanced printing settings if available.
  • Enable "Print as Image."
  • Send the job again.
  • This often helps when PDF data is not being interpreted correctly before reaching the printer.

Restore the printer connection

  • If connected through Wi‑Fi, reconnect the printer to the wireless network.
  • Confirm the printer and device are on the same network.
  • Then send a fresh print job.

Perform a printer reset

  • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord directly to the wall outlet and then to the printer.
  • Allow the printer to complete its startup sequence.

A helpful check is to print a Printer Information Page or Test Page directly from the printer. If that page prints normally, it indicates the printer hardware is operating correctly and the focus should remain on the PDF processing or communication path between the device, HP App, and printer.

If the issue continues after these steps, please let us know whether you are printing from Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone/iPad, and whether the problem occurs with all PDFs or only specific PDF files. This will help us provide more targeted guidance.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
