Has anyone had an issue with this printer's color & BW prints? The scans & computer/phone documents sent to printer are horrible but the printer info test pages print beautifully in BW & color. I've upgraded the software, cleaned print heads, ensured all the print settings are correct but it will still only print its own test pages in perfect color and BW. Thanks.

@Acdm2, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
The issue you're experiencing with the HP2855e printer, where test pages print perfectly but scanned documents and files from computers or phones print poorly, can be attributed to several potential factors:
Print Settings: Double-check the print settings on your devices. Ensure that the correct paper type is selected, and that the setting is not set to draft mode, which can affect print quality.
Driver Compatibility: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed for your operating system. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause discrepancies in print quality.
File Format: Check the format of the documents being scanned or sent from devices. Formats like PDFs can sometimes have better compatibility and resolution settings.
Software Issues: It's possible that there's a mismatch in how files are being processed by the software. Occasionally, changing how documents are saved or processed (such as adjusting DPI settings) can improve output quality.
Connection Issues: Check that the connection to the printer is stable. Sometimes intermittent wireless connections can disrupt proper data transfer.
Print Head Calibration: Since you have already cleaned the print heads, ensure that the printer is properly calibrated. This process can sometimes rectify minor alignment issues that affect print quality.
Scanning and Resolution: If converting documents via scanning, ensure that the scanner settings are set to appropriate resolution settings. Low-resolution scans can result in poor print output.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you, Garp for your response. I tried a few of those things but now I can't get anything to print from my computer, phone or scan anything so it definitely seems to be a software issue. I'll have another go at reinstalling the driver, software etc. So frustrated that I had it wrapped up and ready for the trash but I'll try one more time! Thanks so much.

Hi Garp,
I found the issue with the bad printing...the brand new HP cartridge was faulty with very tiny magenta able to come out. It was enough only for the info page's small little block. After buying another new HP color cartridge and installing it, the color was perfect. Never did I think that a new HP cartridge would be faulty. Thanks for your help. I actually had the printer wrapped up and ready for the trash but decided to try another cartridge for the heck of it.
