I have a new color and black & white cartridges but the printer is showing both as empty. The printer was purchased about 10 years ago but this is the first time I've had this problem. Nothing else is different/new.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Fix Ink Cartridge Recognition Issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure the cartridge you are using is compatible with the HP DeskJet 3752 printer. Refer to your printer manual or the HP website for the list of compatible cartridges.

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Wait for the print carriage to move to the center.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for any tape or packaging materials that might still be attached.
  • Reinstall the cartridges carefully, ensuring they are seated properly.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contact areas on the cartridges.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Turn on the printer and check if the issue is resolved.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Check the HP website for the latest firmware updates for your printer model.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
