HP4650

Just replaced the black ink cartridge with a new HP 63XL purchased from Walmart. It appears to be genuine HP yet I get an "incompatible print cartridge" message when I put it in, and the printer won't print. No error message when I put the old one in, but obviously it won't print without ink. Took out and replaced the new one several times, no effect. 

What's the problem here? Considering the price of ink this is very frustrating.

My printer is out of warranty.  I purchased recycled printer cartridges from Costco (bulk quantity).  In the past I could still print with them despite a warning, but now HP is hard-balling it and not letting me use them. I can't return them to Costco.  I've Googled how to fix this but selecting "bi-directional printing" doesn't seem to help (which was the solution I found on the web...)

This printer uses HP 63 ink cartridges in your region. So, you are using the right ink cartridge.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge

 

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for a replacement ink cartridge. 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
