HP6960 black not printing

Hello,

 

My HP 6960 won't print black ink at all.

 

I have tried everything listed on the HP Support page in terms of running the head cleaning process, printer alignment and nothing seems to work.

 

I am using HP instantink so have a brand new hp black ink cartridge installed.

 

I even bought some electrical contact cleaner to blast that through the nozzle so as to dissolve/ clear any dried ink but this has not fixed the issue.

 

Is there anything else I can try, for example is it possible to dismantle the printer to manually clean the print head or do I have to cancel the instantink service and throw the printer away?

 

The printer has sat for around 8 months without being used so is this likely to have damaged the printer beyond repair?

I understand you are not able to print in black. As the printer was not used for a long time, the ink could have dried up or the ink nozzles would be blocked. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

Manually cleaning the printhead is not recommended in this model printer.

 

Did you use more than 1 black ink cartridge to check if the issue persists? If yes, then this is a hardware issue with the printer.

 

If not, as the issue is related to Instant ink cartridges, I need more information to help you out.
