Product: HP PageWide Pro 477dw Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I tried to use a never opened brand new HP 972a cartridge and received an error message that the cartridge is an older generation and will not work in my HP 477dw Page wide Pro printer.  Other newer but otherwise identical cartridges do work.  If I would have known I had to avoid cartridges before a certain date of manufacturer I would not have bought this one.  Is there any recourse for HP to replace this one for me?

You should return the expired cartridges to the seller if you bought them recently.
