I have an HP C5580 All-in-One printer where I had to change the black ink cartridge (HP74). Multiple attempts to align printer heads have failed but the printer is working fine. I need to know how to clear the error message and menu message to keep running the align printer head function. I have used clean white paper for every align printer function but keep getting the align printer failed error message after each alignment. The test page looks as it should with all colors and black crisp and sharp and bird images as the should be. Left on fuzzy, right one sharp.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting a printer alignment issue, follow these steps to fix the issue.
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware
