@Swimpool, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A line appearing on copies (but not on prints) from your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e typically points to an issue with the scanner glass or ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) rather than a software or driver problem.
Identify the source of the line:
Copy from the flatbed scanner
- Open the scanner lid.
- Place a clean document directly on the main glass (flatbed).
- Make a copy.
- If the line disappears, the problem is with the ADF scanner strip.
- If the line persists, the problem is with the flatbed scanner glass.
Fix: Clean the scanner glass and ADF strip
What to clean:
- Flatbed glass (main glass area)
- ADF scanner strip — this is the narrow glass strip (usually on the left or right side of the main glass) used when scanning/copying through the document feeder.
How to clean:
- Power off the printer.
- Use a lint-free cloth dampened with glass cleaner or distilled water.
- Wipe the entire scanner glass and ADF strip.
- Dry with a clean lint-free cloth.
- Check for any stuck debris, ink marks, correction fluid, or dirt—even tiny specks can cause lines.
Optional: Check if it's a hardware issue
If the line still appears after cleaning:
- Try scanning to a PC (instead of copying). If the line shows in the scan too, it's definitely a scanning issue.
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to rule out other issues (though it's less helpful for physical scanning artifacts).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
