Hi,
I am getting horizontal black lines on the left of the paper of any page I print or copy under my HP M426fdw.
I used the printer's clean page service, which didn't solve the issue.

Hi @YaYa74,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems that your HP M426fdw printer is experiencing a printing quality issue, specifically horizontal black lines on the left side of the paper. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Check Toner Cartridge: Inspect the toner cartridge for any damage or leaks. If the toner cartridge is damaged or leaking, it can cause black lines on the printed pages. Replace the toner cartridge if necessary.
Clean Printer Components: Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the printer's internal components, including the drum and transfer roller. Dust or debris on these components can sometimes cause printing defects.
Run Printer Cleaning Cycle: Most printers, including the HP M426fdw, have a built-in cleaning cycle that can help remove toner buildup or debris from the internal components. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run the cleaning cycle.
Check Paper Tray and Paper Path: Ensure that the paper tray is loaded correctly and that the paper guides are adjusted to fit the size of the paper. Check the paper path for any obstructions or debris that may be causing the black lines.
Inspect Fuser Unit: The fuser unit is responsible for bonding the toner to the paper. If the fuser unit is damaged or dirty, it can cause printing defects. Inspect the fuser unit for any signs of damage or buildup and clean it if necessary.
Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP M426fdw printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve printing quality issues.
Print Quality Diagnostic Page: Print a print quality diagnostic page from your printer's control panel menu. This page will show if there are any issues with specific print elements, such as the toner cartridge or fuser unit.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
