HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One

Hello. I recently bought this HP Smart Tank 515 printer and everything was fine till now. If print or copy a black only file, my print has horizontal lines as shown below. However if I choose to print colored, everything is fine. My black ink level is not low, It's about 80% full. I tried many things to fix this (cleaned printer heads, did diognosis stuff, checked all the parts etc.) but nope. Any idea what else I can do? Print quality report also has these lines. I refilled the inks from the same brand but only black ink has this problem.

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

  • Run a deep cleaning cycle for the black ink, multiple times if needed.
  • Try a new black ink cartridge to see if the refill is causing the problem. I suggest you use HP genuine cartridges.
  • Manually clean the printhead (check your printer’s manual on how to do this).
  • Check the ink delivery system for blockages or leaks.
  • Reset your printer to factory settings if nothing else works. Keep this as a last resort. Refer to this guide: Click here
  • Update the printer’s firmware to the latest version.
