Hi everyone,
I’m a food enthusiast and blogger running a recipe-based website called (Edited). I’ve been sharing home-style recipes online for a while, but recently I decided to add something extra to the experience — printable recipe cards that my audience can download and use in their kitchens.
Since I already own an HP printer (DeskJet 2722e), I thought, why not use it for this purpose? After experimenting a bit, I figured out a simple process that really worked well for creating vibrant and readable recipe prints.
Here’s what I’ve been doing:
🖨️ Printer Settings That Helped Me:
-
I always choose "Best Quality" mode for sharper images, especially when the recipe includes food photos.
-
I use HP Glossy Photo Paper when I want to give a more polished, card-like feel to the recipe.
-
The HP Smart App has made it super easy to print directly from my mobile where I manage my blog drafts and images.
📝 Why Printable Recipes?
Many of my followers requested printed versions of recipes because it's easier to use them in the kitchen without constantly checking their phone. So, I started designing 4x6 and A5 printable recipe cards — simple, clean, and kitchen-friendly.
I host these printable versions on my website for free, and people can download and print them anytime. Y
💡 Looking for Suggestions:
I’d love to know if anyone here also uses their HP printer for creative or home-based projects?
-
Any tips on making prints more ink-efficient without losing quality?
-
Is there a specific paper type you recommend for long-lasting kitchen prints?
-
Has anyone tried laminating their prints at home?
Thanks in advance! I really appreciate the HP community — it’s been a great help learning more about my device’s full potential.
Happy printing & happy cooking!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Hi there! I love how you're merging your passion for food with creative use of your printer—what a fantastic idea to add downloadable recipe cards for your audience. It's clear you're really thinking about quality and user experience!
Here are some suggestions for your questions:
Ink Efficiency Without Losing Quality
- Switch to Draft Mode for Text-Heavy Cards: Use this setting for text-heavy recipe cards to save ink while keeping readability.
- Eco-Friendly Fonts: Some fonts, like Ryman Eco or Garamond, are designed to use less ink.
- HP Instant Ink Subscription: Since you're printing frequently, this service might save money and ensure you're never out of ink.
Best Paper for Kitchen Use
- HP Advanced Photo Paper: This works well for vibrant colors and durability.
- Water-Resistant Paper: Look for "weatherproof" paper options that are ideal for kitchen use, as they repel moisture and stains.
Laminating at Home
- Laminating is a great idea for long-lasting prints! You can use self-adhesive laminating sheets for a cost-effective, easy solution or invest in a compact laminator for a professional touch.
It's wonderful how you're using your HP DeskJet 2722e to bring value to your followers while making your content even more engaging. Keep up the fantastic work! 😊

Hey there! 👋
Love what you’re doing with printable recipe cards — super creative and really practical, especially for folks who prefer physical copies while cooking! I’ve tried something similar for a fast food blog I run — I list full menus (like Whataburger’s) and people often ask for downloadable versions so they can compare meal options on the go or even meal plan at home.
