I own an HP OfficeJet 6958 printer. I am attempting to replace the ink with a non-HP ink replacement that I have used successfully for many years and now I'm getting a message that says, "The indicated cartridges are blocked because they contain a non-HP chip. Replace to continue printing." Honestly, this is ridiculous and if I can't find a way around this, I swear I will never buy another HP product again in my life. I don't care how difficult it makes my life to avoid HP, but if this company is so petty that they think they can keep our loyalty with these kinds of demands, they're wrong. Will someone please help me to figure out how to get my printer printing again? I am going to call the manufacturer of the ink cartridges and ask them if they know of a work around. If no one can help me, I swear I'll throw this HP printer into the ground and never use it or any other again. This is just another reason why I'm ashamed of human beings and our utter waste and contempt for our planet.

After being angry I decided that it is cheaper to pay the exhorbitant price of HP ink than to buy another brand at this point. My next printer is definitely not going to be HP. Any printer should allow users to buy cheaper ink and not have to pledge financial allegiance to the company. HP did not offer any solutions other than to buy their ink. I believe there are certainly ways to fool the printer into allowing non-HP ink, but I couldn't figure them out. We are destroying our planet with all these gadgets and throwing away a working printer was not an option for me. Thank you to the two people who reached out with links to possible solutions.
