Hi @herlyn,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to align your HP OfficeJet 5255 printer on Windows 10 (32-bit), follow these steps:
Load Paper: Make sure there is plain, white paper loaded in the input tray of your printer.
Access Printer Settings:
- Open the Start menu and type "Printers & Scanners".
- Click on "Printers & Scanners" from the search results.
- Find your HP OfficeJet 5255 in the list and click on it.
- Click "Manage".
Open HP Smart or Printer Software:
- If you have the HP Smart app installed, open it. If not, you can use the HP Printer Assistant (also known as HP Solution Center).
- In HP Smart, click on the printer icon to open the settings.
- In the HP Printer Assistant, look for "Printer Services" or "Maintenance".
Start Alignment:
- In HP Smart, click on "Print Quality Tools" and then select "Align Printheads".
- In the HP Printer Assistant, look for "Align Printer" or "Align Printhead" in the "Printer Maintenance" section.
Follow Instructions:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to print an alignment page.
- Once printed, follow the prompts to scan the alignment page. This will calibrate the printheads to ensure optimal print quality.
Complete the Process:
- After scanning, the printer will complete the alignment process. You may need to wait for a few minutes.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
