Hi @dr_rtm,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To replace an ink cartridge for your HP printer, follow these steps:

Identify the Ink Cartridge Type: Make sure you know the specific model of your ink cartridge. Refer to your printer's manual or check the existing cartridge for the model number.

Prepare for Replacement:

  • Ensure the printer is turned on and the wheels are locked.
  • Do not attempt to remove an ink cartridge while the printer is printing.

Remove the Old Cartridge:

  • Access the printer's front panel and select the option to replace ink cartridges.
  • Open the ink cartridge door on the left side of the printer by releasing the catch and pulling it open.
  • Grip the blue tab in front of the cartridge and pull it down and outwards to remove it.

Insert the New Cartridge:

  • Hold the new cartridge with the identifying colored label facing you.
  • Ensure the color of the label on the cartridge matches the slot in the printer.
  • Insert the cartridge into the drawer and slide it into place until it locks.

Confirm Installation:

  • Close the door and wait for the front panel to confirm that all cartridges are correctly inserted.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
