HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

I have installed a brand new black HP950 (CN049A) ink cartridge into my HP Officejet Pro e-All-in-One Printer (serial number [Personal Information Removed], product number A7F65A) and am receiving errors that indicate the cartridge is "damaged or failed".  I went through all of the troubleshooting steps a number of times.  The warranty for the cartridge ends FEB 2026.  I am past the return date from Amazon where I purchased the cartridge.  How can I obtain a replacement cartridge under the HP Warranty plan?
